This past spring break, High School West teachers Jennifer Keller, Ashley Marchese and Kate DiDonato took 17 students from East and West on an EF Tour to Paris, Normandy and London.
Starting in Disneyland Paris, the group made its way through Paris and saw all the sites including the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame Cathedral and even the spot where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake in Rouen, France. After that, they traveled to the deeply moving area of Normandy where they visited Omaha and Gold beaches. Students and teachers were able to explore WWII era bunkers and stand on the bluffs where the D-Day Invasion happened.
A trip to the exceptional Caen WWII Memorial Museum was next. Then, after a journey across the English Channel on a ferry, they vistied London and saw Big Ben from both the ground and high above the sky on the London Eye. The group experienced the public transportation systems in both countries and saw a lot of amazing sights.
It was a great educational experience for both the students and the teachers involved.
