Fifth grade Mt. Pleasant student, Ivy Cortez, spoke to her peers this week about daily affirmations and how they benefited her.
Ivy shared, one day she was upset about soccer, so she thought of positive statements that would help her feel better, wrote them down in a booklet and it helped her feel better. She carries the booklet with her and reads at times to brighten her day. Her mom called them her “affirmations."
Ivy inspired her peers to try making their own affirmation book.
